At Keshet NGO, we believe that the internet should be accessible to everyone, and our goal is to provide a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstances or ability. To achieve this, we strive to adhere as strictly as possible to the accessibility guidelines for web content according to the Israeli standard TSI 5568 at the AA level. Compliance with the standard helps us ensure that the site is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor disabilities, visual impairments, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website is made accessible, as much as possible, according to these guidelines, and also uses various technologies designed to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We use an accessibility interface that allows people with specific disabilities, and those without a screen reader, to customize the website’s user interface and adapt it to their personal needs.

The website uses a plugin from Elementor, which operates in the background. The purpose of this component is to optimize the accessibility level of our website. This application adapts the functionality and behavior of the site for screen readers/devices used by blind users, as well as keyboard functions used by people with motor disabilities, with or without the use of any screen reader.

The accessibility toolbar icon on the side of the page allows the user to click on it and open a toolbar that enables the user to:

  • Font size adjustment (increase/decrease)
  • Change the page to grayscale
  • Display page with negative contrast
  • Display page with high contrast
  • Display page with a light background
  • Change links to have an underline
  • Change font to a readable font
  • Link to sitemap / feedback / help pages

Accessibility features:

  • Adding focus outline for focusable elements
  • Remove target attribute from links
  • Adding specific roles to all links
  • Customizing the style

Browser compatibility and technological support

We strive to support the broad array of browsers and assistive technologies as much as possible, so our users can choose the tools that best suit them, with minimal limitations. Therefore, we have made significant efforts to support all major systems, covering over 95% of the user market share, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera, and Microsoft Edge, as well as JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both for Windows and Mac users.

Physical accessibility arrangements

  • There is no public reception at our office.
  • If you are purchasing experiences through the Land of Tents project, please notify us in advance in your inquiry or during your booking about any required accessibility arrangements, and we will make every effort to tailor the experience to these requirements as much as possible.

Comments, suggestions, and feedback

Despite our best efforts to make the website accessible to everyone, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of being made accessible, or lack an appropriate technological solution to make them accessible. We are continuously improving our accessibility, adding, updating, and enhancing its options and features, as well as developing and adopting new technologies. All of this is aimed at achieving the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. All this is for you and for your benefit, and of course, in accordance with changing legal requirements.

If you still find a bug, if you are having difficulty using any aspect of the website, or if you have ideas for improvement, we would be happy to hear from you. You can contact us via the following email: office@keshet.org.il or through the contact form on the “Contact Us” page. We will make every effort to correct and improve the website’s accessibility in accordance with needs and in compliance with the law.
