CameriNegev

CameriNegev is a long–term project that brings world-class Israeli classical musicians to perform in Mitzpe Ramon and the Negev Highlands.

The project was conceived and launched by Yael Barolski, an international violinist from Israel, who has managed since its inception.

Dozens of concerts were held since 2015 till these days, to the delight of Mitzpe Ramon’s residents. Since 2019 the project conducts 4 concerts a year. Each concerts has two stagings, One at Abde Bedouin primary school and another one in Mitzpe Ramon.

Parents who attended these concerts with their children emphasized how important it was to introduce and expose them to classical music and classical instruments – a rare privilege in the remote Negev.

CameriNegev creates a special, even rare, bond between musicians and audiences of all ages. The location of concerts in the desert, a unique and informal environment, allows the musicians to share this authentic experience with their audiences.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Mifal HaPais Council for the Culture and Arts
