What do the Crater Defenders do to protect Makhtesh Ramon and the open spaces in the Negev Highlands?

Makhtesh Ramon – a primeval land, a rare natural treasure, and its designation as a Dark Sky Reserve are in danger, and we, the Crater Defenders, need your help!

At the same time, we engage with decision-makers in planning institutions and government ministries to amend these plans and promote smart, informed, and sustainable development of Mitzpe Ramon, Makhtesh Ramon, and the Negev Highlands as a whole.

Why do the Crater Defenders need your donation?

We have established a local team of Crater Defenders, a group of dedicated professionals working day and night to thoroughly understand the threats to the Craters Region and tirelessly protect this unique desert landscape that belongs to us all.

Your donations will help us continue monitoring new plans and addressing additional environmental issues in the region, hire professional legal consulting services, lead critical campaigns, and most importantly – protect the open spaces and biodiversity of Makhtesh Ramon and the Negev Highlands!

You are welcome to make a tax-deductible contribution via our fiscal sponsors, “P.E.F. Israel Endowment Funds” by credit card donations.

P.E.F. requests that donors specify that the donation is recommended to be used for KESHET NGO – Community Culture Environment, non-profit number 58-0350379. If your donation is for a specific Keshet project, please mention this as well.

P.E.F. will authorize the donation, forward it to the Keshet NGO, and send you the donor a receipt.

Donations can be made by bank wire transfer.

Please note that we cannot issue a tax-deductible receipt for a direct bank transfer for countries outside of Israel.

Donating through JGIVE or P.E.F will earn you a donation receipt that is tax-deductible in the UK, Canada, or the US, according to your choice of currency and country, and classified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
Upon completion of the donation payment procedure, a donation receipt will be automatically sent to your email address. Keshet faithfully complies with all legal requirements in Israeli law for the administration of a non-profit Association. Donations to Keshet are therefore tax-exempt under section 46A of the Israeli Tax Code.
Keshet retains a Confirmation of Proper Administration Certificate from the Companies & Associations Regulator, Ministry of Justice.
The donation received will be used for actions related to the project you שרק supporting. If there are any remaining balances, Keshet Association will use them to finance additional projects in the field of the campaign project only.
