Keshet promotes education toward a sustainable community. Throughout the years, it has initiated, executed, and assisted in dozens of educational projects in the Negev.
The Association – in fact, a group of parents in Mitzpe Ramon – created the Keshet Kindergarten, a daycare center or “kindergarten” that is operated outdoors, in nature. Gan (Kindergarten) Keshet, which is often called “Gan Ya’ar – Forest Kindergarten” in Hebrew, is the first such kindergarten that was recognized by the Israel Ministry-of-Education. Gan Keshet has become a model for educators from all around the country.
Keshet had also been the supportive home for the Divshon daycare institution in Sde Boker and the “Desert Stars” – the Young Bedouin Leadership project, during its formative years.
Keshet also offers local public lectures and seminars on environmental issues.
These are the projects that are currently active in the Education & Community department
