The Intimidbar Music Festival in Mitzpe Ramon is a joint intiative of Asi Zigdon and Gady Lybrock. It was created around the common vision of producing an intimate music festival in the heart of the desert.
The first festival got underway in 2012 with the support of the Mitzpe Ramon Municipal Council. It received an enthusiastic response from local residents and guests alike. The festival is now sponsored by the Merage Fund for the Development of the Negev, the Mitzpe Ramon Local Council and the Negev Development Authority together with Keshet.
The goal of the festival is to create intimate, unique and moving encounters between musicians of diverse disciplines and an inquisitive audience. The location – Mitzpe Ramon, in the heart of the Negev desert, on the edge of the Ramon Crater, under the breathtaking, endless desert horizon, in most agreeable weather.
As part of the festival, the Spice Routes Quarter of Mitzpe Ramon transforms into a pedestrian-only area of music clubs, inspired by the clubs of New Orleans.
The musical performances, cultural shows, and other events are held throughout the day, until late at night, amidst the galleries of the local artists, the eateries, the cafés, and the pub.
