This unique educational institution was created in 2002 by parents seeking an environmentally-oriented educational alternative for their children. For this purpose, they started the Keshet Association. Over the years, it was supported by the local council and the Ministry of Education.
This kindergarten allows the children to focus their daily activities according to their needs and wishes.
Under the guidance of its director, Mr. Ron Meltzer, the kindergarten has functioned as a “Forest Kindergarten,” Israel’s first since 2013. Its daily activities are held outdoors, in a small grove of trees on the outskirts of town.
In 2014, the Keshet Forest Kindergarten was declared a unique and experimental project and placed under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, the ministry Forest Kindergarten formally ratified this education model for further implementation elsewhere. The Keshet Kindergarten has since become an influential institution for educators throughout Israel. Since 2017, Keshet Daycare is an independently managed educational institution.
