Envisioned by Gadi Lybrock, the Mitzpe Ramon Jazz Club, was established by Keshet in 2007, and has since become one of the Negev’s and Mitzpe Ramon’s mainstays.
The Club began as a center for musical education and enrichment, but over the years has grown into a cultural institution of repute that draws not only Israeli musicians but also a wide range of international musicians.
It has built a reputation for staging excellent musicians and performances, in an out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere for the pleasure of both the local population as well as guests from near and far.
As part of the Club’s activities, Keshet had offered various musical education projects to local residents. There were instrumental workshops for pupils , as well as concerts and musical workshops for adults.
The Club offers an open stage to local musicians and holds open-door parties as well as film projections and musical lectures. It had also become home to the local Jazz band and to diverse local musical formations, which hold their rehearsals and performances there. Every weekend, the Club hosts performances both by Israeli and international artists. Keshet has built a hospitality suite adjacent to the Club for performing artists arriving from afar.
since 2014, due to the expansion of its business activities, the Club separated from Keshet (a not-for-profit body) and it continues to operate with the backing of the Municipal Council/Center for Culture and Sports.
