The Pride and Tolerance Parade
Mitzpe Ramon 2023

The 3rd Mitzpe Ramon Pride and Tolerance Parade is scheduled for June 30th 2023,
and we need your help to make it a reality!

Dear supporters of the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in Mitzpe Ramon!

Last year, we had to go to the High Court of Justice, after the police tried to change the path and time of the parade at the last minute, following pressure from the municipality and the local extremist religious organization.

We are still working without any support from the municipality! Unfortunately, our repeated requests for cooperation, in order to create a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, are continuously denied.

In the meanwhile, we continued to hold LGBTQ+ culture and art events, alongside weekly meetings for LGBTQ+ youth and adults, for support within the community. Our goals are to continue demanding an equal place for everyone, increase our public visibility (where there are those who wish to make it disappear) and communicate to the youth, to parents, and to the general public that Mitzpe Ramon too can be a safe place for them too.

We do not receive any government budgets – the parade, like all our other events, is produced and carried out on a volunteer basis. However, production of such events require the assistance of professionals and equipment that we need to rent (tents, flags, PA equipment, stages) – and this is where your financial assistance can make a difference.

What is the “Pride Space” project?

The “Pride Space” is a series of culture and art events, held throughout the year in Mitzpe Ramon

As part of “Pride Space”, we have produced queer writing workshops; an ongoing performance and Drag workshosp – which performed before the local audience; queer dance workshops; local parties; makeup workshops; and other art and culture events.

Our events are open to all communities and to all people – regardless of their sexual preference or gender – and create a safe space where everyone can be proud of who they are.

Some of the donations in previous years were used to finance the expenses of Pride and Tolerance parades, but most of the amount raised financed the sequence of cultural and art events of the “Pride Space” project.

Join the march! Ideally you’d be able to simply come to Mitzpe Ramon on Friday morning, June 30, and march with us, as well as stay for the amazing events planned for after the march. If you can afford it, we would greatly appreciate your financial support – at any amount, together with any words of support that you wish to express.

This year, again, Keshet NGO, which holds Pride Space events through the year, will be managing the crowdfunding campaign in support of the LGBTQ+ community in Mitzpe Ramon.

All donations are used to continue the annual activities of the “Pride Space” – for educational, art and cultural activities in support of the local LGBTQ+ community in Mitzpe Ramon and its allies, and for the purpose of further community, social, legal and mental health support.

Any modest donation is helpful, and your presence in and support of the upcoming parade is of utmost importance. Let’s bring back love, pride, tolerance, and light to Mitzpe Ramon!
