One-time volunteering for groups

Visiting the Mitzpe Ramon area and interested in volunteering for the desert and the Negev Highlands communities? We invite you to contact us, and we will coordinate an agricultural volunteer activity for you in one of the Bedouin communities of the negev Highlands.

The activity includes Bedouin hospitality with traditional coffee and tea, as well as a meeting with a community representative who will present the activity and discuss its historical, educational, and environmental significance.

  • This is a paid activity
    • Up to 30 participants – 1,000 ILS
    • Up to 50 participants – 1,500 ILS
  • Payment covers:
    • Guidance by a Keshet NGO representative
    • Preparation of the activity
    • Work equipment and supplies

Long-term Volunteer Work with Accommodation

For individuals and groups interested in staying for a longer period, we offer a volunteer program in agriculture, tourism, and education, which includes accommodation and meals in the Bedouin host families’ guest camps.

This type of volunteer experience offers a more profound acquaintance with the Negev Bedouin culture and the desert environment, and a way to absorb some desert peace and quiet and a different rhythm of life.

  • Minimum stay: one week
  • Expected work time: 5 hours per day, five days per week
  • Accommodation type: Shared lodging in a large Bedouin hospitality tent (“shig”)
  • Maximum number of participants: up to 20
  • Meal types: Traditional Bedouin meals
    • Breakfast: Fresh saj pita, labaneh/tahini, fresh vegetables, eggs, olive oil, and za’atar
    • Dinner: Shared trays of Magluba or Mansaf (chicken, rice, and cooked vegetables—vegetarian option available), fresh saj pita, olive oil, vegetable salad, hummus/tahini/labaneh, water, tea, and coffee
    • Lunch: Available upon request or self-prepared
